University of Macau (UM) Hengqin Campus
Huangdao Road, Cotai, Xiangzhou, Zhuhai, Guangdong

The UM Hengqin Campus was constructed on a site with a land area of 1 km2 (1,000,000 square metres) on Hengqin Island across the river from Macau.

This project involved costs of 538 million RMB (107 million NZD) and achieved an engineering construction area of 214,337 square metres.

The development and construction of this campus gained a lot of attention because of the symbolism and value it held, and hence, was closely followed by the Central Government of China. A groundbreaking ceremony was held prior to the commencement of the project and attended by many Government Officials including Hu Jintao, the President of the People's Republic of China at the time.

For this construction project, we were honoured to receive the 2013-2014 National Quality Engineering Award from China Association of Construction Enterprise Management and the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize from China Society for Civil Engineering.
